We are aiming at developing a long-acting injectable dosage form that stabilizes one innovative peptide over an extended period and improves the patient compliance considerably. Colloidal drug delivery systems utilizing biopolymers could protect peptide drug from enzymatic degradation. Additionally, this polymeric formulation could form a subcutaneous depot once injected which enables sustained-release behavior. A correlation will be established between the in vitro dissolution kinetics of the potential drug products and their in vivo performance, facilitating a more efficient translation to clinical research.
